The Drop BK is bringing another excellent event to New York City. Back in February, the independent art zine brought together Eazybaked, Prophet, Aztek, and Hattrix to throw down  in the Lower East Side at Manhattan’s Mercury Lounge. The art-first promoters sold out the show, and released their largest issue to-date. Keeping up with this momentum, they’ve locked in another release party coming up on May 17th. Bringing the party back to Brooklyn, they’ve pulled together another impressive lineup to host at The Paper Box on Funktion One Sound.

Headlining The Drop 005, is Dimond Saints. The LA-based duo have been making rounds in the scene since 2013, but have long been absent in New York City. Their eclectic brand of trap is an melting pot of varying styles and is sure to sound excellently crisp on The Paper Box’s Funktion sound rig. Rounding out the lineup is a stellar collection of undercard artists that are guaranteed to satisfy everyone from the early-birds to the night owls. As direct support for the show, Honeybee will be making her way back to Brooklyn, with Jizzy Fra, iX, and Spectre filling out the lineup. Bringing the whole thing together to close out the night is special guest Pluto Era.

In addition to the music, The Drop BK will be hosting a live painter gallery with 4 artists working their canvases as the music plays, as well as displaying previous works along the venue’s walls. Enhanced production, arts and jewelry vendors, and live performers will also grace the event, making it a well rounded experience for artists, musicians, and attendees alike.

To bring it all home, Issue 005 of The Drop (an independently funded and curated art magazine), will be released. The issue features a collection of brilliant visual artists, written articles about happenings in the scene, and an exclusive mini-mix from Beat Kitty, who’s hoping to debut some of her unreleased tracks.
