Road to Hijinx Festival: Flatbush Zombies – Artist Spotlight

The inaugural Hijinx Music Festival is quickly approaching and we don’t know about you guys, but the Wook Of Wall Street team is extremely excited for this new event happening in our backyard. Over two days, fourteen artists, and thousands of fans will gather at the Pennsylvania Convention Center to celebrate the new year. In order to prep ourselves (and you guys), for this pre-NYE event, we’re starting a series to highlight some of our favorite artists on this extremely well-rounded lineup. To kick things off, we’re talking Flatbush Zombies.

Founded in 2010 by Brooklyn natives and incredibly talented MC’s Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice (Antonio Lewis), and Erick Arc Elliott (The Architect), Flatbush Zombies are a diverse group whose psychedelic brand of hip-hop produce live shows bursting at the seams with energy.

Their conscious and forward-thinking lyrics create and excellent way to bridge the gap between hip hop and electronic music, while Erick Elliot’s dark and heavy style of production fit well with other heavy-hitting acts on the Hijinx lineup, but make them stand out on their designated performance day. They perfectly blend traditional hip-hop styles with world dance and other trippy production forms to weave an exceptional experience for fans of both electronic and rap.

Flatbush Zombies are set to perform on day two of Hijinx music festival, Saturday December 29th with Odesza, Illenium, and Vanic. Check out their track “Big Shrimp”, and make sure to make it in time for their set. We promise it’s not something you’ll want to miss.
