Two and a half hours south of Denver, Colorado lies a quaint ranch at the base of the Spanish Peaks that once a year transforms into one of the nations leading underground-electronic music festivals, Sonic Bloom.
This weekend the festival celebrates another year of growth through music during the Summer Solstice. Although the fest is absolutely stacked with electronic producers from all walks of life, we thought there are 10 artists you absolutely can’t miss at this year’s Sonic Bloom.
1) Kalya Scintilla & Eve Olution
One of Australia’s truest gems, Kalya Scintilla brings a live experience beyond words to the Bloom Stage with aid from the tantalizing visual art of Eve Olution. These performances are rare so be sure to join these two on a journey through sound and human consciousness
2) Emancipator Ensemble
What is there to say about Doug that isn’t already known? A classically trained violinist whose organic approach to electronic music has captivated the love of nearly all lucky enough to experience an Emancipator set. A non-stop ride through the heavens awaits you at the Bloom Stage
Another Australian sensation whom can’t be missed. Following the release of his newest EP “Canopy” Spoonbill is gracing the Bloom Stage for both a late night and a sunset performance. Spoonbill provides a truly live and organic sound to music that knows no boundaries.
4) Daily Bread
Fast rising in the scene and current torch bearer in the electro-soul scene, Daily Bread is coming to the Hummingbird stage once again to bless Sonic Bloom with intergalactic soul-beats and rich low end. Bumpin in your headphones, bumpin in the streets, Daily Bread’s got beats
This fucking guy. If you know, you know. This year Yheti plays at both the Sonic Bloom stage and another late-night set closing out the Hummingbird Stage. Both of which are sure to leave you feeling like a pile of scrambled eggs
6) The Widdler
A staple of Sonic Bloom and pioneer of Dub music; The Widdler takes Bloom on another wonderful journey through Dubstep at the Meadow Stage
7) Jade Cicada
The devastating cancellation of Culprate’s US Tour left some absolutely massive shoes to fill in his upcoming slot at Bloom. The Sonic Bloom team knocked it our of the park by bringing in a man who lets his music speak for itself.
8) Detox Unit
This is Joe. Joe Fucks. Don’t miss Joe turn the universe inside out during his sunset performance on the Bloom Stage.
9) Mark Farina
Mark Farina is a worldwide figure in the electronic music scene. A pioneer of house music known for bringing his eclectic collection of music wherever he goes. Bring your dancing shoes and prepare yourself for a slight chance of Mushroom Jazz
10) The New Observatory
Your favorite duo from String Cheese Incident & Eoto team up with Jamie from The New Deal to bring to you a set of high-energy non-stop improv electronic music. This is sure to get cheeks clapping at the Bloom Stage
