Considering the many movements across the country to make recreational marijuana usage legal, it’s no surprise that some green-themed events are beginning to pop up in the states where use of cannabis has been 100% legalized. Enter The Kind Mind Campout, a music festival and cannabis cultivation competition that seeks to promote and support the growing cannabis industry in Maine. The first festival of its kind on the East Coast, it hopes to bring people together for a weekend of music, education, and cannabis competition.
Bringing together a collection of incredibly talented artists who are all proponents of recreational cannabis, Kind Mind has truly curated an exceptional lineup of musicians including headliner Matisyahu, with Space Jesus, RJD2, EOTO, and Sunsquabi as top tier support. Rounding out the undercard is a truly eclectic mix of artists like Charlesthefirst, Marc Brownstein (DJ set), Amoramora, and The Golden Pony. On top of all that, there are some exciting stage takeovers hosted by Mutiny, FractalSky, and Sermon Nation.
Kind Mind Campout also boasts an excellent group of visual artists, including live painting by Alex and Allyson Grey, Otis Chamberlain, and Gabriel Welch among others. The amount of art on site will be plentiful, with more than 30 artists creating beautiful works over the course of the weekend. There will even be a glass art gallery curated by wire-wrap extraordinaire Jason Burruss.
Also a part of the weekend will be a “Cannabis Cup” style competition to highlight the best of the best of growers, extractors, and cannabis product producers. The competition will be witnessed by professionals and hobbyists alike, and will be presided over by a panel of celebrity judges featuring Alex Grey, Patrick Roach (Randy from Trailer Park Boys), Marc Brownstein from the Disco Biscuits, and many more.
Kind Mind Campout should prove to be one of the top events on the East Coast this summer, especially for fans of music, cannabis, and art.
