Out on The Gradient Perspective, No Remorse’s recently released EP, “Abduction,” is a sleek, 3-track package of wonky, wubby deep-dubstep sounds. Each song plays an indispensable role in showcasing the Virginia-based producer’s adroitness in constructing groovy, yet hard-hitting compositions.

Heavy synths slice in and out of the beat, adding a tangible bounce that’s fun to get down to. That bounce carries into the second track, “Aliens,” but here things start to feel more extraterrestrial. This song creates a cavernous space, containing otherworldly sounds and droning sub undertones.

The final track, “When They Attack,” puts more emphasis on its groove from the get-to. Quick-cutting sonic elements build inertia over a layer of tight percussion. From start to end, this composition drips finesse, exploding with energy built up throughout the EP.
