Great music is more than just the sounds it’s produced from. It’s about fostering a community for people to grow and heal in, and an upcoming bass compilation is about to exemplify this in a beautiful way.
David Starfire is teaming up with SOOHAN to put out “Circulate Vol. 1,” a compilation of remixes, original tracks, and collaborations from world bass artists like CloZee, Beats Antique, Desert Dwellers, and An-ten-nae, to be released on August 15.
Today, two singles from the compilation are out: An-ten-nae’s “Kayu” and David Starfire’s remix of “Vesper Star” by Beats Antique. A third single, a remix by SOOHAN, will be released on August 13.
Most importantly, 100% of the proceeds from this Gravitas Records release will be donated to Beyond the Grade, a grassroots not-for-profit Austin-based charity that provides after school music education for underserved children.
Austin musicians have historically donated a lot of time to Beyond the Grade, teaching programs, classes, and camps that cover topics like performance, production, and playing instruments, making Circulate Vol. 1 an extension of this dedication to helping kids learn music. And Starfire himself is no stranger to curating charity albums; back in 2016 the producer released Karuna, a 10-track project that aided the Thai Freedom House in providing education to Burmese refugees.
Take a listen to the latest singles, and keep an eye out for the full release so you can help this worthy cause get some funding.
