Since coming together for their first performance early 2018, the 5AM Trio has solidified themselves as a thoroughly boundless, don’t-miss act. So far their sets — comprising producer Sam Andrus, ZONE Drums’ Aaron Harel, and Tygris (Zach Plocic) — are rare, having taken stage only 4 times in the last year. Fortunately, a recent video from a studio session with the group offers a worthy glimpse into their ethereal collaborations. The song, “Floating,” features transcendental vocals from Maya Elise, a multi-faceted singer based in Colorado. Masterful scratching and atmospheric synth work from Tygris supports 5AM’s keyboard melodies and the driving power of Harel’s live percussion.
