North America’s first total solar eclipse since 1979 is projected to best be seen from Oregon sometime between August 17th – 23rd. To celebrate, thousands will embark on an epic pilgrimage to Big Summit Prairie Ranch to experience Oregon Eclipse: the festival of the century. The event will be hosted by the team behind Symbiosis Gathering, as well as a dozen others from Costa Rica’s Envision Festival, to Colorado’s Sonic Bloom, Australia’s Rainbow Serpent, and even Japan’s Re:birth. During this week long extravaganza, Oregon Eclipse promises 7 uniquely curated stages to host over 300 musical acts, many of which have already been announced.
Bassnectar & The Glitch Mob were previously rumored to perform at The Gorge this August, however, that show was later confirmed canceled via The Glitch Mob’s twitter account. We’re willing to bet this is why. Nonetheless, West Coast bass heads were thrilled at the presence of their names on the lineup, especially given how much love Lorin has been showing the East Coast as of lately.
Joining them on The Eclipse stage will be a plethora of esteemed artists, covering almost all genres from heavy bass, to downtempo, glitch, jamtronica, and psydub. Some noteworthy names include: Beats Antique, G Jones, Emancipator, STS9 (2 nights), The String Cheese Incident, Thriftworks, and more!
Each subsequent stage has been curated to fit a specific theme, creating a buffet of sonic experiences for the week. The Big Top stage showcases jamtronica, hip-hop, and bizarre cirque acts such as EOTO, Five Alarm Funk, The Heavy Pets, Wanderlust Circus & Orchestra, and more!
The Silk Road is where you will get to sample some of the finest international acts to ever grace american soil such as Dirtwire, Frameworks, Side Car Tommy, Youssoupha Sidibe, and many others!
The remaining four stages – Moon, Earth, Sun, and Sky – all contribute their own flair to the festivities. Here you will find enough to satisfy any bass, psydub, trance, or house aficionado.
#TheHolyTrinity: Kalya Scintilla, Sixis, and Atyya are not to be missed. Also be sure to catch Desert Dwellers, Emancipator, Frameworks, and Goopsteppa. The Earth state is by far my favorite, if that’s not obvious.
Just to recap, that’s 7 stages of music, plus multiple areas of workshops, yoga & dance classes, theatrical and circus performances, and epic large-scale art installations. All of that and more will serve as the backdrop to one of the most phenomenal experiences ever to be witnessed; a Total Solar Eclipse!
At the moment it appears passes have already sold out, but the organizers have provided a centralized location for you to attempt to purchase tickets from those no longer able to attend HERE. Limited car camping camping will be available. Don’t miss your chance to witness the experience of a lifetime!
