Bass Center X gets extended to THREE days, taking place September 1st – 3rd (Labor Day Weekend) at Hampton Coliseum – a venue that’s been coined “The Mothership”. There was speculation in regards to the location of this year’s event as rumors circulated suggesting Kansas, Washington, Ohio, and even Hawaii. Although bassheads seem to be split on the matter, most rejoiced when Lorin broke the news of returning to our old stomping grounds; a place we haven’t seen since the last installment of BassLights in 2015.
The King of the Sound brings in a diverse array of talent this year including Cashmere Cat, Clozee, Shlump, Dan Deacon, Tsurda, Son of Kick, Mr. Carmack, Bleep Bloop, and one of my favorite producers on the rise: CharlesTheFirst!
As with all special-events, Bassnectar will be bringing features like The Haven, a chill space with ambient DJs, yoga, massage therapists, free beverages, and an interactive gift alter. New this time around will be “The Lot” – which is basically going to be an official space for bassheads to tailgate the main event! His announcement reads, “This is an enhanced gathering space outside the venue with renegade sound systems, pop-up arts & crafts faire, and guest performances. Bring you arts, your crafts, your freak flag, your tailgating vibes, and participate fully.”
Since presales are normally depleted faster than balloons after a Phish show, Lorin is implementing a more lottery-style approach this time around. Between Wednesday, March 8th at 12PM EST and Monday, March 13th at 6PM EST you will have the chance to enter your name into a drawing for presales HERE. You may only make one entry and winners will be announced sometime on Wednesday, March 15th.
For everyone else, General tickets go on sale Friday, March 17th at 12PM EST. Click HERE for those. For more information please read the full release HERE. Good luck and we’ll see you in September! In the meantime, who would you like to see fill those “guest performance” slots in The Lot this year? Let me know in the comments!
