This past weekend, thousands of eager Bassnectar fans attending the third annual Freestyle Sessions were thrown on an emotional roller coaster ride when 1st Bank Center unexpectedly announced its immediate closure for the week, due to a technical mishap.

Expecting to attend the Dreamtempo themed Night Two of Freestyle sessions, fans were instead met with a huge street signed that flashed “BASSNECTAR CANCLD 6/8 6/9”.

Thrown in a frenzy, Bassnectar and his team were forced to find an entirely new venue to hold Night 3 of Freestyle Sessions for over 6,000 ticket holders.

Overcoming any artist’s worst nightmare, The Bassnectar Team successfully secured a spot at the Denver Coliseum to throw a “Freestyle Party” on Sunday night, moving all their sound and lighting equipment in just 18 hours.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the repairs, Saturday night’s much anticipated “magical and intentional” Dreamtempo set was not able to go on.

To try and make up this devastating news to fans, who had traveled from near and far, Bassnectar has pleasantly surprised bass heads by releasing his newest Dreamtempo mixtape, “Tempo of Dreams” earlier than expected.

“it’s the 20 year anniversary of the Dreamtempo mixtape, and we were gonna release a new mixtape after this weekend’s event as a surprise, but maybe we can get that out a little early” he wrote at the bottom of his Freestyle Party announcement.

Although Bassnectar re-released his “Dreamtempo” mixtape in 2013, fans have been earnestly awaiting a new mixtape from Bassnectar for a while and this 32 minutes mixtape is sure to leave them satisfied.

Equipped with plenty of bass, celestial melodies and funky acid jazz, the “Tempo of Dreams” mixtape seamlessly flows into a bassy, dreamlike state. With remixes like Buku’s “Front to Back”, Purity Ring’s “Flood on the Floor”, and many other rarities he plays every so often, this mix is an instant classic for Bassnectar fans.
