2017 will be the 17th year for Summer Camp Music Festival, and will surely be another Memorial Day Weekend for the books! The ever so diverse festival will be taking place once again at the beautiful Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois from the 26th-28th (or 25th if you’re smart enough to get the pass for the pre-party). While featuring moe. and Umphrey’s McGee as usual, their lineup never fails to disappoint with a little something for everybody.
From Waka Flocka to the Pretty Lights Live Band to Yonder Mountain String Band, Summer Camp refuses to abide by typical genre segregation. Spread out over 5 stages with a variety of camping areas, these grounds will echo with tunes from Zeds Dead, Gov’t Mule, Primus, Gramatik, and many many more. With over a 100 acts playing over the weekend there is no shortage of good tunes to be found.
While it may not be the summer camp from your childhood, this festival is sure to reel you in and leave you with a new favorite festival. From a field day full of activities such as dodgeball, tug-of-war, and capture-the flag (with the winning team winning a keg party sponsored by the amazing local Goose Island Brewery) to the infamous late night sets at the Red Barn (this year featuring combinations like Tauking McGee and moe.), any avid festival goer would be remiss to not join in on the festivities.
